There have been a few discussions at Boudoir_by_Dove HQ this last couple of weeks as to whether Boudoir should be like a makeover or should remain more natural.
There is space in the world for both (Hows that for sitting on the fence ha ha ).
However, my own personal point of view is that natural beats makeover every time
For those who know me, you will know that one of my missions in life is to empower women through the belief in their own body and themselves.
At the tender age of 57 (how did I get that old), I feel qualified in saying that in my experience, most women dont LOVE themselves or their bodies.
My aim for Boudoir at Dove Photography, is to help women feel special and help them appreciate how beautiful they are regardless of a little extra weight, a few wrinkles or curves. I shoot in a way to help you see how beautiful you are without Photoshop.
If you come in to me and I take your photo, I wont edit the life-force out of it, yes, you will have a beautiful image, AND it WILL actually look like you, win/win.
I have testimonials from ladies aged 22 - 52 saying how much confidence they gained after the shoot, how much better they felt about themselves and how they now have photos of themselves for themselves. Photos are given to partners as gifts, but each woman has bought images for herself too.
Strangely, I have just read one of my previous blogs (see I even read my OWN blog, how cool is that ha ha). Anyway, If you look back at the blog post of 06/04/12 (9 (?) reasons to have your Boudoir photos taken) I am saying the same thing. Its November 2014 and I am still helping ladies young and old to feel better about themselves.
Here are some recent photos of ladies over 50 who for one reason or another wanted to appreciate their bodies, have lots of fun, and have gorgeous images to remind them how beautiful they are.
Much love to women (and men) who find this blog and phone and get the courage to book an appointment. I cant wait to see you and show you round my beautiful studio.
See you soon
